Sharon Alemany created the winning logo for the 2012 Stewardship Campaign theme, Giving from a Grateful Heart. The watercolor image of two hands holding the church “shows giving in a loving way,” says Sharon. She explains that she attempted to depict that idea in her design.
An artist in her spare time, Sharon has a passion for drawing and capturing an image—in mixed media or water colors. Individuals and families have commissioned her to produce paintings of private homes or favorite vacation spots, for example. Her works have appeared in art galleries in Rhode Island. A lifelong student of art, she serves on the Board of the Wickford Art Association.
Sharon and her husband Scott met when they both worked at the Boston Marriott Hotel. Job relocations to Washington, DC and back to Boston brought them to Southern RI nearly 20 years ago. They joined KCC soon afterward.
Scott is corporate director of operations for Newport Hotel Group. Two of the Alemanys’ sons, Matthew and Mark, also work in the hospitality industry. Their youngest son, David, is preparing to do the same as a student at UMass Amherst.
