Church School Program
Families of all sizes, shapes and hues are welcome and cherished at Kingston Congregational Church. The church provides an engaging and comprehensive Christian Education program for infants through eighth grade. Rooted in the Scriptures and the Christian tradition, the program offers a range of options for learning, service, and friendship. We use Gather ‘Round curriculum published by Brethren Press. It is a Bible-based curriculum which seeks to nurture Christian discipleship and community, love, justice, and peace.
Kingston Congregational Church provides a nurturing, safe and challenging environment for learning. Our caring and trained teachers, excellent curriculum, and a broad range of enrichment activities offer a variety of ways for children and youth to learn about the Christian faith and participate in the life of the community.
Visiting for the first time?
Please inform a Greeter or Usher that you are new and that you’d like to be introduced to our Church School Director, Alice Babcock.
Sundays – Childcare and Church School
Infants and Toddlers Loving and tender care for infants and toddlers is provided by trained volunteers and professionals. You may leave your child with them before the worship service as early as 9:15am. Our greeters or ushers can direct you to this area. You are welcome to keep your young child with you during the worship service. If your child becomes distraught, you may want to take him or her to the library or fellowship hall. When your child is feeling better, please feel free to return to the worship service.
Grades Pre K – 8
Children are welcome to worship with you for the entire worship service or may choose to participate in church school class. Appropriate enrichment activities, including crafts, games, music, and other activities, are offered using the curriculum.
Children are invited to participate in Communion with their family on the first Sunday of the month. Music is a very important part of the Church School Program. Each Sunday, children are invited to learn to sing sacred songs. All who are interested are invited to sing as part of the worship service on designated Sundays.
Children have the opportunity to take part in special services throughout the year. This includes the Christmas Pageant and the Children’s Day Celebration Service.
